Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) proudly clinched the third spot in the overall standings of the Socio-Cultural category during the Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) Friendship Games 2024 held in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, from November 23 to 30.
JRMSU demonstrated excellence across various categories, earning a total of 44 points.
In the literary competitions, the university placed third in Pagsulat ng Sanaysay and Dagliang Talumpati.
In the dance arts competition, JRMSUโs contemporary dance team finished fourth.
Meanwhile, in the music arts category, the university secured second place in the live band competition and dialogue-based short and sweet play, along with a fourth-place finish in the musical version of the short and sweet play.
Sharing the third spot with Bukidnon State University, which also scored 44 points, JRMSU showcased its students’ versatility and talent in various cultural and artistic disciplines.
The MASTS Friendship Games 2024 served as a platform for celebrating the rich cultural heritage and artistic capabilities of Mindanaoโs state universities and colleges.
With this outstanding output, Campus Director, Dr. Marvin Recapente, and Associate Dean of the Student Affairs and Services, Prof. Ivo Mathew M. Siaton, showed their deepest felicitations to all the participants and the men and women who are behind the achievement of the weeklong undertaking.
In her part, Socio-Cultural Director, Dr. Venus D. Namoc, expressed her laudable congratulations to all the contestants for showing their enthusiasm and preserverance as well as to the JRMSU officials, coaches, chaperons, kitchen staffs, and other personnel who are part of the success.
